January 18, 2011: Tasha is about the sweetest, most affectionate, laid back, 6 year old Siberian Husky I have met. Tasha’s family could no longer keep her and entrusted her to BDRA for care and to find her a good home. Tasha is sight impaired. She has limited vision in her left eye and most likely no vision in her right eye. The specialist said it was a miracle she had any vision with the condition of her eyes. Tasha is also overweight and I am working to get some of the weight off. Tasha is housebroken. She is so sweet and trustworthy in the house that I never crated her since arriving. She is great with kids. She lived with two dogs and a cat and is good with them. She has gotten along with the 5 dogs in her foster home from day one. She loves to just lie around and will lift her front leg for a loving belly rub. She knows when it’s time for dinner, thanks to the other dogs, and will give the daintiest howl waiting for her food. When her food is arriving, she will dance around in anticipation. Tasha likes to go for walks and currently goes for a one mile walk, which will increase as her conditioning improves and weight reduces. She is great on a leash and does not pull. We’ll see if this continues when she gets into better shape. Tasha is beginning to learn to use a doggie door. If you are looking for a mellow Husky that just wants to be a loved, cherished member of the family, then look no farther than Tasha!
