12:02pm He is just doing worse. We've done everything we could for him, and he is suffering. It is time to let him go. Kelly is on her way to be with him on his final journey. My sister in law, who hoped to adopt Innoko, will be there as well. Godspeed, Innoko. We tried so hard to get you better.

8:01am He got much worse overnight. He started vomiting again, and his diarrhea got worse, with a good amount of blood. His blood pressure got lower, despite a fluid bolus. So he will need vasopressors to keep his pressure up. The vet said she has seen dogs come back from this, but his odds are not good at all. We decided to try giving him blood pressure support until 10:00, and re evaluate. Unfortunately things aren't good. Poor Innoko has fought so hard, but we may need to end his suffering. I will keep everyone posted.

8:30pm Well Innoko handled the transfusion well, and the vet seems to think that it did provide him a little more strength...he was able to lift his head and sit up for her on his own...which is promising...and the vomiting has stopped since this morning. He will be receiving another transfusion this evening at 10pm.
Thank you everyone for stepping up to donate blood - I did ask the vet and they said that they have more than enough plasma on hand to take care of him, but they were very appreciative of everyone offering.
I did have a chance to see Innoko...I wasn't able to hold him or go in the room because he was receiving a transfusion, which broke my heart...but I know it is for the best. Just seeing him there really broke me down inside....the pup that I brought there Friday evening was completely different and I could only think of how different size wise he is from Jetson now. Back on Thursday of last week Innoko was a healthy 8 pounds...now I wonder if he even weighs 5 :( He just looked like skin and bones...
I can't believe it has been almost a week already since he's been at the ER...it feels like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms and he was scooting around my backyard like he owned the place... Please continue to send your vibes and well wishes...he really does need them now more than ever!!

I do not have good news. Innoko has taken a turn for the worse. He
has started vomiting again. He continues to have diarrhea, though it
is no longer bloody. The vet said his condition is quite guarded
right now. They were going to put a feeding tube in him, but can't
because of the vomiting-if he aspirates food into his lungs when
vomiting he risks aspiration pneumonia.
Our options are 1) euthanasia 2) continue the current treatment 3) try a plasma transfusion, to give him some blood and immune factors.
We are going with the transfusion. He will receive 3 transfusions over the next 24 hours. Tomorrow we should see improvement if he responds. If he doesn't, we will have a decision to make. So please keep those prayers and thoughts coming. He needs them more than ever. If he makes it through, his end bill will be close to $6000. We feel it's worth it to help this little guy fight. We will keep everyone posted.

10:10am I just wanted to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has made a donation for Innoko's care and been praying on a daily basis for a speedy recovery!!! The love and support of so many people has truly inspired and touched me in ways words just can not describe!!! Thus far with the support of so many generous people we have been able to cover about half of his treatment - today's total being $3400. However every day he is at the ER that number continues to rise...so please keep putting the word out on facebook, your blogs, etc....you're help is greatly appreciated and as you can already tell...REALLY WORKING...so keep up the good work!!!!
For those of you who don't know (and I apologize for the repeat of information): Innoko's fever is still down from the 104 range to 101.6 and it has been for the last 12 hours!! He also did not vomit at all last night; however he is still having severe diarrhea which is just leaking out of him (the poor guy). His breathing also seems to be a bit better and he is not drooling as much (indicating severe nausea). He is quite depressed, but I had a chance to talk to the nurse that was directly caring for him and he said that he is quite the little fighter!! So overall he had a fair night - and we are by far no way out of the woodwork, however this news is quite promising that he might be rounding the corner. Please keep those vibes coming - they are definitely working!!!! Thanks again EVERYONE for all your support!!!!

He still has no fever, and still no vomiting. They are going to try to feed him today. :)

Kelly just called the vet. I told her I'd update so she can feed her dogs lunch. Innoko is still having a good amount of bloody diarrhea but he hasn't vomited this morning. Small improvement, but I'll take anything. So let's hope that he hit his worst point yesterday and he will start to work his way back to us. Thanks, Kelly, for keeping such a good eye on Innoko. She will go tonight to get some paperwork on parvo to share with all of us, but she probably won't go in and risk bringing it home to Jetson or her dogs. She will, however, be able to peek in at him. :)

Unfortunately Innoko proceeded to get worse through the night. His vomiting continued and his diarrhea is to the point where it is just leaking out of him :( Now he has labored breathing, the vet did a chest x-ray to check for pneumonia...luckily that was clear, but that certainly isn't a good sign. The poor boy is on pain meds to help with the pain, but they said he is very depressed...I'm thinking about seeing if I can go there this evening....my heart is just so broken, I wish there was more that I could do besides sit here and cry and worry :( He is such a little fighter and I won't give up on him....I know we all won't give up on him....please continue your prayers, I know that some of them are coming from such a distance away, so once they all reach him I know that he will start to feel much better!!!! I will be calling the vet around noon time to get another update....

Well, things aren't going well...he is having quite a bit of bloody diarrhea. He is at his worst since he's been at the ER. The vet still thinks he has a good chance of surviving, but he's having a rough time tonight.

Unfortunately the news this morning was not what we had hoped for...
Innoko's WBC dropped significantly and he has spiked a fever. In addition, he is vomiting and having severe diarrhea. The vet did say that this isn't totally unexpected - parvo puppies usually go through good and bad cycles during their treatment; however, I can't help but be completely shocked and saddened by this news :( Please keep Innoko in your thoughts and prayers today...it is going to be a long/difficult one for the little guy

He is doing OK, but won't be coming home tonight. They took him off the IV fluids. He vomited and wouldn't eat. He is also on some strong antibiotics, so that could be causing some upset tummy. He's still doing well, but they would like to watch him another night.

Ok everyone,
I have really promising news as far as Innoko goes - the boy is a real trooper!! First and foremost the vomiting has completely stopped (yay!!) He still is having diarrhea on the hour every hour, but the vet said that is far more 'gentle' on the body (then vomiting) and good news. As of last night she backed down the IV fluids to half of the initial dosage - and as of 9:30am this morning he is holding his own. He is running a slight fever, which is good and bad. It is good because that means he has enough white blood cells circulating to generate an immune response. The bad thing is that maybe he has a secondary infection so they are worried about sepsis. So they are treating him with a rather aggressive antibiotic to see if they can bring down the fever. However if he doesn't respond to it within 4 hours of dosage they are going to take him off of it, since they don't want it to cause any nasty side effects. Also at 12pm today they are going to take him off all IV fluids and if he is holding on his own then they are going to discharge him this evening!! I will call them back this evening around 6:30pm and check. Thanks for all the well wishes thus far!!! He certainly is using them :)

Unfortunately I did not get to hear the news I wanted to hear this evening :( Our poor little Innoko has Parvo....just the thought of it make my stomach drop and my eyes hurt so bad from crying all night long....please send your best wishes and good thoughts his way....it will be a hard road to recovery, but the vet feels that we caught it early enough that he should make a full recovery....I felt so sick to my stomach when I had to leave him there...just the thought of it now is making me cry. In addition, say a prayer that no one else in the house comes down with this....I am spending the majority of my evening and tomorrow disinfecting the house and the yard to the best of my ability.
